Grangefields by Cripps & Co is a beautiful traditional red brick barn located in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside with a beautiful converted second barn for your wedding breakfast and all the incredible touches you would expect that make it a wedding photographers dream come true!

It is one of my absolute favourite wedding venues to photograph at with so many original features tastefully modernised to provide a stunning ceremony barn, courtyard and wedding breakfast room.

Introducing Grangefields Wedding Venue

Grangefields is a new Derbyshire wedding venue on the historic Trusley Estate and is a wedding photographers dream come true with so many stunning original features alongside tastefully modernised areas.

The oak room has gorgeous red brick walls with wooden beams and a beautiful chapel window at the ceremony end. The wedding breakfast barn has an amazing show kitchen with BBQ, French rotisserie & rotating pizza oven.

The evening room offers beautiful natural lighting, lots of seating and air conditioning to ensure your cake stays nice and cool whatever the weather!

You’ve probably already picked up the hint by now, but I absolutely love it… a stunning location, amazing team and a guaranteed gorgeous gallery whatever the weather!

Getting married at Grangefields Venue Derbyshire

The Oak barn is just the most romantic, atmospheric ceremony room imaginable.

During the ceremony the lighting in the barn can be very challenging for photographers.

It’s important to choose a wedding photographer who is experienced and has the right equipment to deliver beautifully lit pictures of the most important part of your day.

The gorgeous long aisle is lit from above and to the right so on a bright day your grand entrance will be perfectly illuminated. On a more overcast day or for winter weddings where the light fades quite early in the day I add a discreet off camera flash located out of view of your guests to ensure you have stunning bright and clean photographs showing every detail as you make your way down the aisle.

As an experienced Derby wedding photographer I have the technical expertise and have invested in professional lighting equipment and the latest very capable low light cameras to ensure that you receive perfectly lit images as you say your vows and take your first kiss.

As you make your way back up the aisle after saying ‘‘I do!’’ you are backlit by the gorgeous chapel window. To ensure you are not silhouetted and you get to see all the smiling faces I use discreet off camera flash to bring flattering light you both and your guests.

When the lights go down

The grounds of Grangefields are enormous, the front driveway, surrounding lawns, courtyard and surrounding buildings all make for beautiful pictures as the light fades away.

I bring out the flash and craft gorgeous pictures what ever the weather or time of year!

Beautiful Grangefield Sunsets

As the evening draws in and the sun heads for the horizon, the grounds around the beautiful venue offer a never ending array of vistas across the Derbyshire Countryside to take advantage of a nice sun set if the weather plays ball.

Group Photos

One of the most important memories of your big day are the group photos, I go through a consultation a month before your wedding to nail down the groups you would like and who will be in each so we can work through them in a fun but efficient way and get you back to the Prosecco!

Perfectly lit, flattering group photos of you and your closest family of friends captured to look back on forever.

The Wedding Breakfast Barn

The food at Grangefields, and I speak from experience haha, is incredible.

The wedding breakfast barn is stunning but can be a little tricky for photography. Your guests are backlit by the big floor to ceiling windows which creates a silhouetting effect. I bring along multiple off camera flashes to overcome this and ensure I capture all the guest reactions as the speeches are made.

The Confetti throw at Grangefields

When you get married at Grangefields you get the whole site for your private use. After your ceremony you can be announced into the courtyard for your friends and family to shower you both with confetti.

You can then relax, enjoy a glass of Prosecco and catchup with all your guests. The whole team at Cripps & Co go out of their way to ensure everything goes perfectly, from your wedding co-ordinator to the bar staff and kitchen team everything goes like clockwork.

The courtyard has lots of seating and fire pits to toast marshmallows as the evening draws in.

What if it rains on my Grangefields Wedding Day!

If you hire a great wedding photographer for your Grangefields wedding then there’s absolutely no need to worry, so, if you do pull back the curtains on your big day to find it’s throwing it down don’t stress!

The creative off camera flash comes out along with the strobes and an umbrella or two and between us we will create beautiful and dramatic ‘wow’ shots of the two of you both inside and outside of the venue. One of the great things about Grangefields s all the space indoors and the amazing features to use. Once your ceremony is done the oak barn becomes vacant so we can even do the group photographs indoors if it really is raining heavily.
