Hanbury Wedding Barn is one of my absolute favourite venues to photograph beautiful weddings at right on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire boarder!

Hanbury Wedding Barn is a new venue set right in the heart of the National Forest.
Its a wedding photographers dream come true with the bright and beautiful barns which have been lovingly restored especially with wedding celebrations in mind. Every room from the ceremony hall to the wedding breakfast hall is flooded with natural light making for relaxed, stylish and flattering photographs.
The venue is family run and features an elegant traditional red brick ceremony barn with exposed timber frames, an outdoor ceremony pavilion overlooking the lake, a spacious courtyard and a large evening room as well as a gorgeous rustic wedding breakfast barn.
It is the perfect place to begin married life with your family and friends and the perfect backdrop for incredible wedding photographs.

Whatever the weather or time of year, from Prosecco and Champagne in the barns beautiful gardens during the warmer months to cosy winter weddings with dramatic skies and intimate romantic portraits around the woodland garden areas and all of the original red brick features you can rest assured you will receive a stunning gallery of wedding photographs.

The entire site of the wedding barn is made exclusively available to the happy couple and your wedding guests including a lovely stone courtyard with lots of seating for everyone to relax in and beautifully maintained gardens with majestic old trees, winding stone pathways and secluded hideaways which look so photogenic spring, summer, autumn or winter.
Whether you want a grand summer wedding in the gardens overlooking the lake or a cosy winter celebration in the red brick barns Hanbury Wedding Barn can host your perfect day. The barns have been designed to make everything so stress free and to allow you to smoothly flow from donning the wedding dress to the first dance with the simplicity of having your celebration in one location.
Behind the gardens you will find access to the corn fields beyond which make for the perfect summer sunset photographs.
Getting married at Hanbury Wedding Barn
The wedding ceremony room at Hanbury Barn Barn is just absolutely stunning.
The perfect place to say ‘I Do!' a beautiful 18th century barn which has been fully restored to its former glory with so many gorgeous original features retained.
With great care taken to preserve the unique character, this red brick barn has a true rustic feel with solid exposed beams and a skylights to create a light, airy feel and the colours have been kept neutral to let your flowers and dressing make the statement you want.
The team have though of everything with the external windows temporarily covered to ensure no sneak previews by the guests as the bride or groom make their way from the preparation room to the ceremony!

Just as important as the beautiful barn venue is the team behind it.
All of the staff are absolutely incredible, they create such a relaxed and stress free environment, they are with you all the way, nothing is ever too much trouble and everyone works none stop to ensure your perfect day goes like clockwork.
Creative Sunset & Twilight Photography at Hanbury Wedding Barn Hall Barn
As an experienced Derby wedding photographer my style is creative and very relaxed.
I have a great sense of humour and a strong work ethic and ensure I capture every detail of the day for you, taking beautiful shots of the two of you as the venue dressing changes throughout the day.
I especially love making the most of any sunset opportunities as the evening starts drawing in and the skies over the barn turn to dusk to use off camera flash to create dramatic ‘wow’ shots of just the two of you.
The blue hour makes a gorgeous backdrop to the venue when it is all lit up and sunsets add a little romance if the weather permits. I set up these more technical photographs in your absence, so you are only away from your wedding guests for a matter of minutes.
Are sparklers allowed at the barn?
They are indeed!
I love a good sparkler exit and there are lots of great areas around Hanbury barn to get everyone lined up and lit up.
The best advice I can give is to buy the long burn variety, they can last as much as two or three minutes which means you don’t have to rush to get everyone lit at the same time. It also means you can get two or three walks through without having to run, always a bonus when combining sticks of fire with people who have had a little to drink haha!

The gardens of at Hanbury Barn look beautiful all year around and there is always a backdrop of colour blended perfectly with the rustic stone walls, gateways, the lake and even indoors if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Whilst I always take the formal group shots which we work through and decide on in advance as part of your consultation to make everything flow stress free on the wedding day, I also love to get creative with the wedding party photographs too, creating some more relaxed pictures to really capture the spirit of your day.
It may seem a bit odd on the day when I start dragging chairs out outside but they are always the group shots couples absolutely love and share when I send through their wedding galleries!

With everything being on site at Hanbury Wedding Barn there is never any stress or need to rush!
Once the ceremony is complete and you have survived the confetti run without chocking on petals, the team ensure every detail is managed to perfection dressing of the stunning wedding breakfast room whilst you simply relax and focus on having an amazing ceremony and a day to remember with all of your family and friends in one of the most beautiful spots Staffordshire has to offer.
Worried About Rain Forecast on Your Hanbury Barn Wedding Day?
If you hire a great wedding photographer for your Dronfield Hall Barn wedding then there’s absolutely no need to worry. Its England and chances of a little more rainy or windy weather increase as we go later into the year , don’t panic though as it becomes an opportunity to get out the weather sealed camera kit and create some truly beautiful and unique wedding photographs.
So, if you do pull back the curtains on your big day to find it’s throwing it down don’t panic.
The creative ‘off camera’ flash comes out along with an umbrella or two and between us we will create beautiful and dramatic ‘wow’ shots of the two of you both inside and outside of the venue.
I set up all the required lighting without you and then fire some test shots to check everything looks great, that way you are outdoors for as little time as possible, I just walk you into the shot, take it and then you can get back to the party!
