Introducing the beautiful Shottle Hall

Shottle Hall Estate is located aout in the Derbyshire countryside and offers a gorgeous house, marque and stunning views. Shottle Hall stands on the edge of Peak District National Park and forms part of the famous Chatsworth House Estate.

It really is the perfect backdrop for your wedding day celebrations and is one of my absolute favourite venues with so many opportunities for natural relaxed wedding photographs I can’t recommend it highly enough!

The team at Shottle Hall also need a special mention, every wedding I have photographed there has run perfectly with zero stress. As a creative wedding photographer there is nothing better than being part of a team on the day coming together in a relaxed but professional way with lots of laughs, all working to ensure you have the best day ever!

THE HALL

Shottle Hall is the picture perfect country house wedding venue. It has been designed with weddings in mind and is a wedding photographers dream come true with gorgeous chandeliers and floor to ceiling windows letting in floods of natural light blending victorian charm with modern luxury.

The Orangery Restaurant is also light and airy for perfectly lit photographs of you and your guests and far reaching countryside views of The Ecclesbourne Valley.

Shottle Hall is also exclusive use so the whole secluded venue right in the Peak District, Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby is all yours to enjoy!

The Morning Preparations – Getting Ready at Stretton Manor Barn

With so many gorgeous rooms upstairs for your morning preparation there’s zero stress getting to the ceremony as it’s a 30 second walk away! All of the rooms are meticulously decorated with period features and full of natural light so your morning photographs look incredible.

The view across the Peak District is also just the perfect vista to take in and enjoy whilst you get wedding ready and having some fun relaxed photographs with your wedding party before you head off to say ‘’I Do!’’

I do love an emotional first look with mum or dad too… don’t worry if they are not the emotional type, I can Photoshop tears in later haha!

Getting Married at the Gorgeous Shottle Hall

There are lots of options for your wedding ceremony room at Shottle Hall and each is an absolute stunner, genuinely breath-taking. It’s a wedding photographers dream come true, whether you choose an outdoor ceremony, the main hall, the Coach House marquee… all have beautiful natural light so every detail is perfectly captured.

In the hall the backdrop of period fireplaces and glowing chandeliers just ooze romance and I absolutely love the ambiance it all gives as I capture that walk down the aisle, a shed tear or two and the emotion of the wedding ceremony right through to your first kiss.

Stunning Wedding Photography Ideas at Shottle Hall

I’ve already mentioned to beautiful interior features of Shottle Hall but I can’t forget to mention that you also have access for wedding photographs the massive 14 acres of private grass meadows and gardens around the venue.

I prefer not to tie you down to a specific time for photographs and a long drawn out photo shoot, instead for the gorgeous photos of just the two of you I just whisk you away for five minutes here and there as the day goes along. The light is constantly changing through the day so as I see a part of the venue or the gorgeous grounds that looks just perfect we take some stunning pictures and then before you know it your back with your guests.

It makes for a really relaxed day, means you get more varied wedding photographs with a variety of lighting and most importantly maximises the time you spend with your family and friends!

When the light falls away and the blue hour kicks in after sunset Shottle Hall comes alive.

If you are up for a dash out into the fresh evening air I grab my photography lighting kit and make some stunning romantic twilight pictures of you both… It may be a bit chilly in the winter months but I promise it will be worth it!

Winter Weddings at Stretton Manor Barn and What if it Rains?

I absolutely love winter weddings, whether we get the gorgeous low golden winter sunshine or its overcast and grey, it’s a recipe for amazing wedding photographs!

I guess the biggest worry for my couples with winter weddings is the weather. Well, if you have a great wedding photographer with lots of experience then there’s absolutely no need to worry, everything’s fine! Rain on a wedding day becomes an opportunity to get out the weather sealed camera and lighting kit and create some truly beautiful and unique wedding photographs.

Rain doesn’t mean we don’t get to explore the gorgeous grounds of Shottle Hall, I bring along the big photographic brolly to keep you dry and off we go! When it comes to clothing, if you have a wedding dress with a long trail check you know how to hitch it up to keep it dry and as clean as possible when walking outside.

The Wedding Breakfast – Time to Eat!

The gorgeous wedding breakfast rooms both in the hall and the Coach House Marquee have a truly opulent feel. I love how the room turn around is closed off so your guests get the full impact of the beautiful setup as its revealed to everyone at once.

Its always a chorus of ‘’ohhh wow’’ as everyone gets their first look!

Can we do Confetti and Sparklers at the Barn?

Ohhh yes! After your ceremony you can be announced into the entrance walkway for your friends and family to shower you both with confetti.

You can then relax, enjoy a glass of Prosecco and catchup with all your guests. The whole team at Shottle Hall go out of their way to ensure everything goes perfectly, from your wedding co-ordinator to the bar staff and kitchen team everything goes like clockwork.
