Oakham Summer Church Wedding

Congratulations to Maria & Liam who were married on Saturday the 1st August 2020 in their gorgeous little church just 100 yards from Mari’s mums house in Egleton!

Like many couples in these times of a worldwide pandemic they have both been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride the last few months and when we met up for their engagement shoot its was not certain whether their day could go ahead as planned due to ever changing Covid restrictions. Thankfully everything came good, the sun shone and the St Edmund church looked absolutely stunning, small and intimate it dates back to the 1500’s and you know your are one fo a select few when the Marriage Register Maria & Liam signed dated back to the 1830!

It was a lovely ceremony and after saying ‘I do!’ in front of their family and friends the whole wedding party walked back along the lane flanked by gorgeous thatch roofed houses to Marias mums cottage.

I need to say a massive thank you to Maria, I found a lovely corn field in the morning and despite wearing wedding dress and a very long veil she and the whole bridal party hitched up their dresses and with lots of laughter we all scrambled through fields of sheep and hedgerows to get there in the afternoon… you were all absolute stars and I hope the pictures bring back some happy memories.

There is something about all of the weddings I have photographed since the 4th July… its not the wedding the couples originally planned, they have had to work hard to make it happen and it has been a none stop roller coaster of ups and downs but in the end it all comes together, they are stunning, intimate affairs, the people who matter the most are all there and they are incredibly personal.

Congratulations again to you both, thank you for having me as part of your day… your full gallery will be ready soon!
