When I first met Abi & Lee almost two years ago they had their new baby, little Phoebe, with them so it was lovely to catch up with them again a few weeks ago for their consultation to find she had well and truly found her feet :-)
We ran through all their exciting plans and I was really pleased when Abi mentioned heading up to Curbar Edge for some photographs if the weather played ball on their wedding day. I spend a lot of time in the Peak District, Curbar Edge is one of my absolute favourites for a sunset sky and as a bonus they had chosen the gorgeous Fox and Goose Inn as their wedding venue.

The Fox and Goose Inn is just on the outskirts of Chesterfield on Pudding Pie Hill and overlooks some absolute stunning scenery, sweeping countryside and horse paddocks, the perfect setting for relaxed wedding photography.
I need to mention the wedding breakfast food too, its absolutely fantastic as were all the staff who did an absolutely amazing job on the day!
Bridal prep was great, the whole bridal party were at Abi’s mums house having wedding makeup completed by Julie from Sparkle & Glitz, I have to say Julie is the most organised makeup artist I have ever seen work but everything else was absolute chaos in the best possible way… lots of laughter, Prosecco was flowing and by the time Julie had finished everyone looked amazing. In no time at all the wedding cars were out front and it was off to North Wingfield’s St Lawrence Church.
Glorious sunshine on arrival, a beautiful relaxed service and forty five minutes later the happy couple emerged from the church as Mr & Mrs!
It was then off on a nice drive through the picturesque Peak District. Thankfully the weather forecast stayed true to its word with the sun shining bright as I pulled into the Fox and Goose Inn car park.

By around 9pm a gorgeous soft sunny glow descended on The Fox & Goose and it was looking like we would have a cracking sunset. With Curbar Edge just fifteen minutes away we could resist the golden light no longer, I bundled Abi & Lee into the back of my car and we had a quick dash up the moor top.
All credit to Abi for making up there in that amazing wedding dress in just a few minutes, arriving at the top just as the sun was breaking through the cloud perfectly as it set. We had plenty of laughs taking these gorgeous golden hour couple wedding photographs and were blessed with a constant flow of ‘congratulations!’ from passing walkers and hikers which was really lovely.
It was then back on the road to Pudding Pie Hill to the Fox and Goose Inn for a beautiful first dance under the last of the blue hour sky in the venues lovely new wooden pergola, by this time the sky had turned a gorgeous purply blue colour and made a stunning romantic backdrop.

‘‘Weddings at Pudding Pie Hill’’ is located right in the heart of the stunning Derbyshire Peak District and as an avid chaser of early morning sunrises at Curbar Edge when doing landscape photography its amazing to be able to photograph a wedding at such an amazing location.
Surrounded by farmland, rural villages and sweeping vista’s out towards Chesterfield it really is a gorgeous and unique location for you and your guests to relax and enjoy.
The team at the Fox & Goose are also absolutely amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble and every wedding I have photographed here has been wonderfully relaxed, the food has been absolutely beautiful and each day has been completely unique.

Where do I even start to write a review for Mat.
From start to finish everything Mat did for us was perfect.
We booked Mat pretty much completely blind we had looked at his website once and met him once and knew straight away that he was the photographer for us.
Mat’s style fit perfectly to how we wanted to capture our special day.
When it came to the big day itself Mat was super professional and in all honesty at times I completely forgot that he was there snapping away. No task was too much to ask. Especially when I threw it out there I wanted to grab some pictures up at Curbar Edge, Mat was more than happy to oblige.
Then came the images there are just no words to describe how perfect they are. They have captured the day perfectly. From the small details to the big Mat captured it all.
I can’t wait to get them on the wall at home!
