Rufford Mill Abbey Nottingham Wedding Stunning Wedding Photographs
Stunning Wedding Photography at Rufford Mill
Rufford Mill is the perfect Nottingham wedding venue for your big day, based in the stunning grounds of the Rufford Abbey County Park the mill and lake area have so many beautiful areas of scenery to use.
I thought I would put this little blog together to show some of the lovely features Rufford Mill has to offer and some of the beautiful wedding photography I have taken there.

The original mill buildings are located on the outer edge of a traditional old courtyard, right next to a ford running across the access road which certainly seems to keep wedding guests of all ages busy cheering on the cars as they drive through and splash!
The courtyard has rows of traditional red brick-built cottage style buildings on its outer edge and has a lovely traditional look and feel.

Upstairs is Rufford Mill’s stunning Talbot Suite wedding ceremony room, it may be a wedding photographer thing but my attention is always immediately drawn to the gorgeous wooden beams up in the roof area which are flanked on all sides by rows of hanging lamps.
The Talbot Suite will comfortably seat 150 guests for a civil wedding ceremony and 80 guests for a wedding breakfast.
As soon as I saw the lights in this room for the first time I knew I would have to get the mirror out of the car and set up some off camera flash!
Relaxed Stunning Wedding photography ideas at Rufford Mill
The Rufford Mill venue building has been very thoughtfully restored and has some stunning original features.
Whether you plan to get married in the summer where the suns sets late behind the red brick mill or the winter where it dips down below the tree line early in the afternoon sunsets in the country park are always beautiful as you stand beside the lake surrounded by woodland.
The gorgeous Rufford Mill wedding ceremony room
Fully air conditioned the ceremony room at Rufford Sawmill is really bright and airy with lots of natural light so there is no need for intrusive flash photography during your wedding ceremony.
I switch my cameras onto silent mode and then just hang back out of the way and capture all the emotion of your ceremony without causing any distracting to you or your guests as you take that next amazing step as a couple.
On the ground floor there is a bar and function room area which makes for a great reception area before your ceremony in The Talbot Suite, somewhere to relax, greet family and friends and calm your wedding nerves before the ceremony starts!
Rufford Mill Wedding Confetti Photography Ideas
Once your ceremony is complete there is lots of space downstairs in the Mill’s courtyard for confetti shots, large group photographs and then you and your guests can relax and enjoy the grounds whilst the upstairs room is transformed into a stunning wedding breakfast room.
Stunning Wedding Photography Ideas Around Rufford Park Lake
As a professional Nottingham wedding photographer I pride myself on always having a ‘Plan B’ for photographs if the weather is not great (and let’s face it Nottinghamshire is a little unpredictable at the best of times).
I always have a large white umbrella with me to get you between locations dry and clean so we can still get out and grab some amazing shots of just the two of you whatever the weather.
There are lots of locations around the grounds of Rufford Country Park which are sheltered and as the sun sets over Nottinghamshire and the skies turn to twilight the rain will add drama to some beautiful off camera flash shots.
Around the front of the mill are the country park lakes which have a traditional cobbled banking. It’s the perfect area for us to get all your family and friends together for your wedding group photographs, lots of space and a beautiful backdrop of water, wildlife and woodland.
I go through the group shots with you during our consultation so I can manage all of the co-ordination on the day for you!
