As a professional relaxed South Yorkshire wedding photographer I am very lucky to get to photograph so many beautiful weddings at some absolutely amazing Chesterfield venues and as a massive fan of the Peak District, The Fox & Goose at Pudding Pie Hill is one of my absolute favourites!

As soon as you arrive at Pudding Pie Hill after a scenic drive through the Peak District rolling hills you can see straight away it is designed from the ground up to deliver your perfect wedding day.
With such beautiful surroundings, corn fields, historic old trees and beautiful stone walls leading off to the horizon it is one of the few Chesterfield wedding venues I never worry about the weather, inside the stunning old building or out in the gardens your wedding photographs will be absolutely incredible..

The Fox & Goose is everything you would expect of a beautiful rural inn, tastefully refurbished, set in acres of gorgeous Peak District moorland and with many new features including a gorgeous pergola it’s a wedding photographers dream, the perfect venue for your Derbyshire wedding day.

This stunning rural inn offers a fantastic setting for Wedding Receptions, Civil Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships with choices of a big indoor ceremony room which has lots of natural lighting or a beautiful outdoor pergola to say ‘I do’ surrounded by trees and sweeping views across the Derbyshire countryside.
I’m very relaxed in how I work, no long drawn out awkward posing or hour long photo shoots so after the ceremony a romantic walk through the beautiful grounds makes the perfect idyllic backdrop for your photographs and ideal setting for your drinks reception.

I also need to mention the amazing staff at The Fox & Goose, on site experienced Wedding Co-ordinators give you total peace of mind, safe in the knowledge that they have thought of everything, every wedding I have photographed here has gone like absolute clockwork.

It also makes a great location for a ‘first look reveal’ to mums or dads and a gorgeous photo opportunity as you step out of the room and make your way to the ceremony where all your guests and beloved await!

Getting married at Pudding Pie Hill
I have photographed weddings indoors and outdoors at The Fox and Goose and each is beautiful in its own right.
In the summer the most popular is the gorgeous outdoor pergola which allows you to stand out in the amazing gardens surrounded by all of your friends and family to exchange your vows and say I do under perfect blue skies and flattering natural light.

If you are getting married inside the inn you can relax in the knowledge that your pictures will look amazing, the entire room is flooded with flattering natural light, absolutely perfect for wedding photography.

The ‘walking down the aisle’ shot can be challenging for wedding photography as the aisle is quite short and lit from one side but as an experienced Chesterfield wedding photographer I have the ability and discreet lighting equipment to ensure you get perfectly exposed wedding photographs every time with nothing missed.
My number one aim during your ceremony is to capture every moment, creatively and beautifully whilst remaining discreet to ensure all eyes stay on you both.
I have invested in silent cameras and camera lenses which work incredibly well in low light conditions to remove the need for those annoying clicking sounds and direct camera flashes so you remain ‘in the moment’ as you exchange your wedding vows whit all your guests attention focussed on you and not distracted by me,
Wedding Photography Ideas at The Fox and Goose
There are so many options for stunning pictures of just the two of you at Pudding Pie Hill. The gardens of the inn are surrounded by farmland with public access so whether there are crops of corn, sunflowers and even wild flowers there is public access to create some gorgeous portraits.
They also make for the most beautiful backdrops to capture an amazing sunset and twilight hour ‘wow’ shots as the light fades away and the night draws in.
Just two minutes away is the Peak Districts incredible Curbar Edge which serves as a dramatic backdrop if you would like to pop over for some shots, it’s nice just to have a moment to yourselves, let everything sink in and create some magic memories.
What if it rains on my Pudding Pie Hill Wedding Day?
First and foremost, don’t panic!
As an experienced Chesterfield wedding photographer I have photographed amazing weddings in every possible condition you can imagine, and The Fox and Goose is absolutely amazing for indoor group photographs if needed so there’s absolutely no need to worry.
A rainy windy wedding day becomes an opportunity to get out the weather sealed camera kit and create some truly beautiful and unique wedding photographs.
If you’ve been staring at the weather app all week and it’s definitely going to be throwing it down don’t stress!
The off camera flash comes out along with umbrellas and between us we will create beautiful and dramatic ‘wow’ shots of the two of you both inside and outside of the venue.

I set up all the required camera lighting outdoors for some dramatic rain shots without you and then fire some test shots of myself to check everything looks as I hope. That way you are outdoors for as little time as possible, I just walk you into the shot, take it and then you can get back to the party!
Its also very rare that it will rain for the whole of your wedding day, so even if its only a 15 minute break we can still get out and do some gorgeous shots of just the two of you as well as a big group photograph of all your guests.
