Rebecca and Matt its the sneak preview of your absolutely stunning Christmas winter wedding at Whitley Hall in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
It was a frosty start but after a week of rain I woke up to a the perfect forecast of dry clear skies for the day! Whitley Hall was all dressed up for Christmas and looked absolutely beautiful. Everywhere you look there are gorgeous festive candles, decorations and lights from the stunning staircase flanked in baubles and holly to the ceremony room with its sparkling colour co-ordinated Christmas trees and wreathes.
After a really beautiful wedding ceremony with lots of happy tears from Rebecca we headed out to explore the gorgeous courtyard and gardens. I really have to say a massive thank you to Matt and Rebecca who were both far more enthusiastic than I had expected to be out in the freezing cold, they were both full of smiles and Matt had an endless supply of comments to whisper into the ear of his new wife to make her laugh so we got some stunning photographs of the two of them.
The sun set very early and by 4pm it was almost pitch black so we took the opportunity to head back out once more for ten minutes and make the most of all the romantic Christmas lights, I found the switch behind the bar for the string lights and in a matter of seconds all the decorations and features came to life as daylight faded away.
I love to get creative with my wedding photography whatever the season but I especially enjoy the dark nights of winter, creating something really special with lights and shadows as the sun sets over this beautiful Sheffield venue.
