The Folly
Jo and Neil were married at the gorgeous Farmhouse at Mackworth in Derby with a wedding ceremony in The Folly.
It was the most random wedding day weather I have experienced for a long time, it never let up and we took photographs dashing around the grounds of The Farmhouse in hail, rain, sleet and a sprinkle of snow all with a constant 60mph wind.
It was such a brilliant fun day and I really need to say, Jo and Neil you were absolutely amazing… standing out in the storm at 9pm with all of your amazing family and friends doing a sparkler shot was a lot of fun and definitely a first for me.
Jo got all set for the big day at home in Derby with some wedding nerve calming special ‘wobbly’ coffee’s prepared by her dad whilst mum Val kept me busy in between the bridal prep photographs taking her lots of flattering profile shots for Vogue magazine!
It was a really relaxed morning, lots of laughs and everything running like clockwork with the the ladies all looking absolutely stunning in plenty of time.
One of my favourite moments of the morning was being upstairs photographing the bridal dress when I heard chuckling coming from the opposite room. I stepped onto the landing to find father of the bride Bud practicing his speech and laughing to his own jokes!
I left Jo and the bridesmaids adding their finishing touches and headed off to The Farmhouse at Mackworth to grab a few shots of Neil and his two best men who were all suspiciously very calm. Then there was just enough time to before head into The Folley to snap the ceremony room which had been decorated to perfection by Lilly Rose Wedding and Events and looked utterly incredible, such attention to detail everywhere you looked.
Finally it was time to head outside to the entrance of The Farmhouse to wait for the bridal party to arrive in their matching pair of Little Blue VW campers. A lovely ceremony followed in The Folley with wedding rings brought in by ring bearer Hugo their dog.
It was them most perfect day, The Farmhouse at Mackworth is a stunning venue with amazing staff, great friends and family and after a few more romantic shots out in the nights rain I left them to celebrate and party the night away on the dance floor.
