Well… where to start.. Rob & Jess absolutely smashed it at their stunning ‘The West Mill’ wedding!

They also continued my uninterrupted record of having amazing couples who don’t care if it hammers it down with rain all day because they know we will create some absolutely gorgeous unique shots inside the incredible venue instead, and The West Mill really is special!

So many amazing moments, I mean there was the constant laughter and Prosecco through bridal prep, a very emotional ceremony where I took a shot of Jess’s mum on the brink of tears and almost lost it myself. Then there was sliding all the way down the wet banking on my backside whilst taking a romantic walk around Darley Abbey’s Derwent Weir or when I lost my phone in the toilets only for it to be returned later in the evening with some very suspect guest photographs having been taken on it by someone haha!

But for me the real highlight was their amazing family and friends, it was just one big none stop party from start to finish and The West Mill was the perfect venue with so much space inside, so many happy happy people. The culmination was their 90 year old grandma throwing massive shapes on the dancefloor at 9pm to a David Guetta tune supported by a live saxophonist and a DJ!

We even got a ten minute break in the Derby rain, just long enough to tip everyone out of the West Mill venue into the courtyard for a great wedding party group shot, a slightly stressful bridal bouquet throw result for one of the guests and a romantic wander around the Derby Abbey weir for some gorgeous shots of the newly wed Mr & Mrs.

A special shout out to Briony the wedding events manager who ran the day at The West Mill, she was just absolutely amazing from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble and she made everything so effortless, thank you for all the help on the day.

Ohhhh… and just for context, the shot from the wedding breakfast speeches where Jess looks absolutely appalled, that’s where Robs brother referred to her eyebrows as slugs, I love Robs mums expression haha!
